Talking Cure

Ko Andrew taku ingoa,
No te Mata Rua Ahuriri ahoe
nau mai e nga tupuna

Haeremai, tēnā tātou katoa

I have over 15 years’ experience in social services and counselling. I studied Psychodynamic therapy, Psychology, Human Development and Modern Attachment Theory which is the foundation of my relational therapeutic approach. I am a registered Social Worker. Therefore, I understand the relational dynamics from complex social processes, communing with nature, or intergenerational experiences or communion with our tupuna.

I follow a social constructionist and systems approach which means I work with relationships between the tensions of everything.

The whakapapa of my healer journey began with over a decade of meditation practice with the Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual University. I am a Reiki Master Healer and use western and ancient knowledge phenomenology towards healing personal, familial, social, and approaches to intergenerational wounds and trauma.

It was a personal journey into my own self-healing that inspires me, and gives me purpose to work specialising in complex trauma and attachment wounds and healing families. Sometimes we are not aware of the ancestral burdens we carry that carry cycles of abuse. It is possible to heal these.

My approaches use the most current understandings of neurobiology, working with phenomena, safety in emotional regulation and co-regulation (safe relationship), and a diverse understanding of culture and Te Ao Māori. Also the latest understanding of complex traumas and attachment theory and working with others.

I apply a Taha Kaitiakitanga approach in all aspects of my process that can traverse many worlds of our unique personhood and incorporeal world and our identity that makes our individual difference. I do this through ongoing professional development and experiencing everything I pass on to you. I’m passionate about learning so I can Be the best for you.

What interests me is forging a healthier happier world by working with relationships by “Being” in (Safe) relationship with our internal, and social, and material worlds whilst simultaneously striving for the spiritual creation of a safe, peaceful and harmonious world. The creation and transformation from traumatic growth is possible through this experiencing healing (transformation) within the therapeutic alliance we create.

I truly love my work because of the miracles can and do get created through safety in healing.
