Counsellor

Liberty is a registered counsellor with the New Zealand Association of Counsellors (NZAC) and has a background in supporting individuals across academic, community, and corporate settings. Her therapeutic approach is grounded in psychodynamic therapy, which she values for its focus on understanding how early life experiences, relationships, and unconscious patterns influence present-day thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. She also integrates skills from Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) to support emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and the development of practical coping strategies.

Liberty has a particular interest in trauma-informed care and has worked with individuals experiencing the effects of trauma, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, and other life challenges. Her professional experience includes school counselling, crisis response, and employee assistance programmes, where she has supported clients through a wide range of personal and emotional difficulties.

She holds a Master’s degree in Guidance and Counseling and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the Philippine Normal University. Liberty is committed to creating a safe, respectful, and compassionate therapeutic space where clients feel heard and supported. She believes that healing occurs through a trusting therapeutic relationship and works collaboratively with clients to explore their inner world, process difficult experiences, build resilience, and foster meaningful, lasting change.
