About the event

Clients with developmental and relational traumata often present with an immense need for empathy, love and care. These feelings will often be evoked in the therapeutic relationship as well, creating intense transference and countertransference feelings that can scare both therapist and client. In this workshop we will explore these feelings and their meaning for healing and reparative work in therapy. Aspects of transference and countertransference as well as enactments and their relevance in therapy are explored. How do we stay authentically engaged and respond in a humanizing and healing way without crossing ethical boundaries? Aim of the workshop is to help build a deeper understanding of love and tenderness and the erotic transference in therapy to help therapist navigate these stormy waters more confidently.
